The Portrait
Project:
Pour (le) Trait
The Pour (les) Traits - or in English "for the features", is an ongoing photography project focused on creating dynamic, moody portraiture of everyday people. The goal is to produce a cohesive collection of high-quality, emotionally resonant images that explore the quiet strength, vulnerability, and individuality found in ordinary lives.

The portraits will be crafted using dramatic lighting, intentional shadow play, and cinematic color tones to evoke intimacy and depth. Rather than idealizing subjects, the project aims to reveal authentic expressions and subtle gestures that often go unnoticed. Each session will be collaborative, allowing subjects to share personal stories that inform the visual mood and composition of their portrait. Participants will be everyday people—workers, neighbors, artists, students, elders—representing a range of ages, backgrounds, and identities. The aim is to celebrate diversity and highlight the extraordinary within the ordinary.

Sessions are free and participants will receive 3-5 high quality digital images. Sessions are approximately 45 minutes long and are normally done in my studio at the Creator Incubator art space in Hamilton North.
You are free to create your own version of you or just keep it simple. The idea is to capture a part of you with an expressive dramatic portrait.
